I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Houston. My primary area of interest is in close relationships. I examine (1) the influence of close relationships on self-regulation, well-being, health, health behaviors, and addictive behaviors; (2) the influence of substance use on close relationship functioning; and (3) daily diary and ecological momentary assessment (EMA) research methods. My current NIDA-funded research examines how intimate partners influence smoking cessation in a 21-day EMA study.
